middleton beach

i left it on the pontoon
to soak up the sea spray
and watch the whales calve
in the cradle of the sound
cured salty by the sun

i swam back, i waited
on the cold white sand
every bird shadow
was you running past
- each day past –
the sky grew
a dark glittering blue

i was a norfolk pine, never
tired of waiting on the shore
never tired of watching
my heart on a yellow stage
rocked softly by the sea

I am sitting there gazing right out across the sound beside you. So beautiful.

    This one’s my second favourite.

    “never tired of watching

    Nice.

Oi. What’s with the deleting of the comments?
