I got this email from Bloggeries.Com:

Blog Collecting Dust? Why Not Sell It?

Hello Bloggers,

It’s almost Fall and I’m sure many of you ambitious bloggers have a few blogs lying around that you aren’t using anymore… Why not get some extra money by selling it?

There is always a market for people buying blogs. Most people still don’t know how to set one up and/ or can’t be bothered. Blogs that are indexed on major search engines and in good standings can always fetch a decent amount of cash…

I had no idea you could sell a blog. Why would anyone want one? No really, that’s just stupid. What are they going to do with it?

But hang on, how much would I get for it? Maybe I’m sitting on a blogging goldmine. So I had a look and there’s someone trying to sell a blog that’s only 6 weeks old for $300. The price seems to be based on the site’s search engine ranking and monthly visits

My technorati ranking is 1,100,718th. Whereas Boing Boing is 5th. I got a link back from Boing Boing once in relation to a phallic Dalek hybrid mask . That was a pretty exciting day for me

Anyway the blog that’s going for $300 has a ranking of 208,472th. So that means that my blog is worth roughly $57. Bargain!

It’s re-assuring to know that if I ever need some penny chews in a time of financial crisis, my blog is ready to be auctioned…

who are the people who don’t know or care how to set a blog up, but are apparently mad for it?

how much cash do these same mouth breathers have sitting about to throw at something they probably can’t spell?

Mouth breathers? Is that something South Australians say?

    Oh, I love Boing Boing!

That is, I look at it occasionally; you know, from time to time. Rarely, actually - nowhere near as much as I look at yours!
