a bit about the state election and doctor who

September 1st, 2008 · 9 Comments

We were waiting for Doctor Who Confidential to come on the telly last night after Doctor Who. It’s a short behind the scenes segment that would have shown us the actors being taught to walk zombie style after they’d been eaten alive by flesh-eating shadows, known collectively as the Vashta Nerada

But instead of zombies in suits, the ABC broadcast the WA Liberal Party’s Colin Barnett giving his campaign speech in the lead up to out state election

Is that uncanny or what?

I wasn’t really listening to the speech because I was trying to reach level 10 on MrS’s I-Touch Labyrinth game but I think he said something about if they get in they will eat babies and put everyone in jail, and build a multi-story car park for every man, woman, and child

But getting back to Doctor Who, the last two episodes in the library were very good. That Agatha Christie episode a few Sundays ago was one of the worst Doctor Who episodes I think I’ve ever seen

    They were excellent episodes.
During part 1 my 7 year old nephew was huddled on his mothers lap, head pressed into her shoulder so he couldn’t see and his hands over his ears .

That ‘count the shadows’ was up there with ‘whatever you do, don’t blink’

Little Squib (5) was very dissapointed as we never actually saw the monsters (Vashta Nerada) face

I missed Episode 1 and so was a bit lost. I did love the woman’s face under the veil, though.

And ever since you mentioned it, the theme song is really annoying me. It really isn’t as spooky as it used to be.

Here’s a thought. You could record the theme song from the last series, mute the current series theme, and play the theme from the previous series while watching the current one

you may need a HDMI cable interweaved with a DVD interconnection loop facility in order to allow the AV connection on the Audio Output channel to merge with the I/O facility on the TV

Better use an MP3 player with headphones…..

Does that have something to do with my telly?

You’re very wise Persey. Hang on to that boxset as long as you can. The Digital Age is hell
