TINY PARTY IDEAS: 4 YEAR OLD
INVITATIONS: Write the invitation on a strip of paper then fold it back and forth and put in in a tiny envelope. Put the tiny envelope in a bigger envelope. Alternatively you can get very cute tiny invites, cups, plates etc etc from Martha Stewart, which is what I did
PROPS: If you’re a bit mad like me you may want to join flattened cardboard boxes together, cut out a tiny door, paint it and fit it into your front door frame
DECORATIONS: I got a bunch of 12cm balloons (that are used in so-called balloon topiaries) and put these on little sticks (see above). You can give each child one as they leave (which I forgot to do)
FOOD: I made miniature gingerbread men and chocolate crackles. other miniature food included mini cheezels, mini M&Ms, mini Skittles, mini pizza (just stick to plain tomato paste and cheese cos kids this age are hard to please), party pies and sausage rolls. For the parents I had a big pot of vegetable soup on the stove
CAKE: I made a Little Miss Tiny cake by scanning Little Miss Tiny, enlarging it on A3 paper then cutting this template out of two rectangle vanilla cakes stuck together with butter icing. Other ideas: You could also do a Horton Hears a Who cake
ACTIVITIES AND GAMES: We had a Tiny Scavenger Hunt. Each child was given a little bag with a list of tiny things to find outside (with pictures because they’re not quite reading yet). When they had collected all 8 things they took their bag to LittleSquib’s big sister who gave them a prize (either a Little Miss Tiny or a Mr Small book)
We also had TINY PASS THE PARCEL. Each layer of tissue paper had insect stickers and the parcel prize was a small wind up caterpillar
We also did matchbox craft which included making a matchbox camera, a matchbox set of drawers, and a matchbox bed for a pet puffle. Because of the age group I partly pre-made some parts (eg the pins in the drawers)
MUSIC: Good songs for a Tiny Party are It’s a Small World, When the Ants Comes Marching In, Oompa Loompa song. We had more but I’ve forgotten what they were
LOLLY/LOOT BAGS: Tiny bubbles, tiny cards, mini play dough, magnifying glass, teddy bear glasses, mini M & Ms
THE END

What a great party! You really took the theme seriously I see. The only problem is that you have set the bar so high, what will you do for the next party in the Squib house?
