my adventures in switzerland: part two

June 18th, 2008 · 4 Comments

[If you’ve just tuned in to this exciting serial, this is about my time in Switzerland, written age 11 - hence the poor spelling which has vastly improved since then - after never having been there, Switzerland that is]

Diary & Itinerary

Day One

Off and away! With Swissair! This morning I awoke with a strange feeling then I remembered it wasn’t another tiring school day but instead a trip to Switzerland…

I’ve just arrived in the Zurich airport. I went to the little office at the airport to change my money. Unfortanatly inflasion was up and I lost 100 francs, levaing me 8842.50 francs. I travelled on a airport coach to the five-star hotel called Dolder Grand. It is situated among pine woods, ten minutes from the center of town.

I’m glad that in the August holidays I went to night school for two weeks and learnt some German and French.*

This hotel has an outdoor pool. It’s lovely to float in the water listening to the pine trees whispering in the breeze. The people here are extra polite, always saying ‘Merci bien’ (thank you very much) or ‘Grutsi’ (Good Day).

I’ve had a fantastic day but I am rather tired so after I’ve written a page in my book I’ll flop into my feather bed and sleep until 10.00am.

[to be continued…how enthralling!]

* It was an intensive course!

There’s something disturbing about an 11 year old knowing that “inflasion was up”.

There is something Harry Potterish about all this - are you sure you’re not that Rowling woman?

    *howls*

I could’ve been if only those publishers agreed with me!!

Yep. Yer characters are much better…especially the Warthog and that copy of Tinkerbell.

    *sigh*

Still a compliment is still a compliment and when I get one I take it and run
