I’m thinking E.T. is quite a botanist so he returns to earth and finds that Drew Barrymore is a plant watering person in an apartment building. Their common interest in plants makes them realise they should be together
I’m thinking that Eliot is now played by Hugh Grant and he is, I don’t know, maybe a has-been pop star. He is the best man at their intergalactic wedding

It is 2015
E.T returns to earth – 200 years older but not looking a day older or fatter.
Elliot meanwhile is now the President of the Gold Ol’ You Ess of Ay.
E.T wants Earth for his family as his own planet has just melted.
Of course Elliot cannot accept this and immediately declares war
A war ensues – and E.T certainly does phone home this time – several times and a zillion E.T’s are let loose on the Earth, drinking budweisers and flying around on their bikes.
Earth is doomed – but wait standing in the wings of the White ‘Ouse is Arnold “I’ll be back” Schartzernager, complete with Zimmer Frame fitted out with the latest Apple iLaser.
The rest as they say is …….history……..
