I get these irrational little peeves from time to time and my latest pet hate is writers who have a word meter on their blog/website. It’s like a thermometer thing that people have when they’re fundraising for a new church roof, showing how far they are through the draft of their book manuscript

There’s another version that also features a cartoon (of what looks like a turd with arms and legs sitting at a computer) to show your mood as the word count increases

Is there a follow on application? Put in the number of publishers/agents you can possibly send your ms to and then put in the number of total rejections to date and then you could have an animated turd author that flushes itself down the toilet when the mercury bar reaches 100%
