sorting the wheat from the chaff

When it takes half and hour to scroll down your list of favourite websites in order to reach whatever it is you last bookmarked, you get the sense that it may be time to delete some, put some in folders, tidy up a bit

This may take weeks

Here are some of the odd things I have bookmarked over the past couple of years

Buy Spanish Standard Royal Flags online (We were going to fly one from the galleon in our backyard…as you do)

What the Montagu family ate during the latter part of the 19th century (Research for our then-12 year old’s Victorian Murder Mystery Slumber Party… never let it be said that I do things by halves)

Wikipedia: Buffalo Mozzarella (I have NO idea why I bookmarked this)

List of unusual words beginning with V (Why V? I can’t remember)

Neurally Mediated Hypotension (There’s nothing like a diagnosis from Dr Google)

Mystery of singing sand dunes (Well who wouldn’t  be interested in this)

Vegetable lamb (Interesting tale about cotton plants)

How to remove musty smells from books (This one cracked me up, esp. the suggestion to put books in a  suitcase filled with hamster litter but then maybe I have a strange sense of humour)

Astronomical Applications Department of the US Naval Observatory (I had an argument with someone who believed they were pointing at the Southern Cross when in fact it was the fake Southern Cross; I proved I was right by entering the time and location into this clever site and then I emailed the results to the person I was arguing with. Never let it be said I am obnoxious!)

Battye Library picture of my great great grandparents and my great grandmother (Since hardly anyone in my family has any old family photos it’s nice to know the Battye Library has a few)
