LittleSquib tends to choose dreary books about a) sweet natured Disney princesses who love to sing and cook or b) Barbie’s anorexic soccer team and a photographer called Skovoola. That’s why this is not a list of her favourite books but a list of the ones I enjoy reading to her. She enjoys these books but probably not as much as I do

I don’t really like that one. I don’t understand why the digger rescues the bird. Are we supposed to believe that diggers and construction machinery in general are fauna friendly?

My Google Alert picked up mention of my book ‘There’s a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake’ on your blog. You might like to check out the latest news and links on my website about the cake eating hippo book series.

What the hell? Google alert? SquibblyJo how do you expect me to comment on this thing now? Anyway just wanted to mention that I’ve actually read one of these books ‘Olivia’ and loved it and was going to buy it for a friend’s daughter of the same name, but like you, realised that I enjoyed it far more than she probably would. She seems to like those princess books too.

Google alert is just an automated public relations/publicity machine, nothing to be alarmed about my dear

LittleSquib does really like the Olivia books. You definately get it. You don’t want to add to the princess/pony trash, you want to edify it with a fine choice
