bjork’s amazing technicolour skipping rope factory

December 16th, 2007 · 2 Comments

I saw Bjork’s new single Declare Independence on Friday night’s Rage and, as is usual with Bjork, I was going ‘huh?’. I finally got it figured out. It was clearly a skipping rope dying machine tangled up with soldiers and Bjork urging them to fight for factory workers’ rights. Well clearly

But no. It was actually guitar strings trundling around on a pulley system and it was in fact about the Faroe Islands and Greenland (thanks Wiki). Well clearly, I can see that now. She’s quite something, eh?

Weren’t they in a woolie weaving shed?

The song was bobbins an all.

I preferred when she just lay on her bed, her eyes wide open, being, as she was, in love again.
