i want to win the poetry clam

The last time I ever read one of my poems in public was at an Anzac Day school assembly

I used to meet up with a wonderful Albany writer who has recently gained a place in the Poetry Slam State Final, and a couple of others in the foyer of The Esplanade Hotel, Albany, which has sadly since been demolished. Even in a group as small as this, I could not read my poetry out loud

The same applied when I met up a few times with Jegs from The Brixton Poets, London… Ah memory lane… The writing group in Glasgow was an interesting one. The first meeting was consumed by a debate about whether future meetings could involve illicit substances

So anyway, I’d like to propose a Poetry Clam Competition, where poets get together and don’t read their stuff because they’re a bit gutless like me… anyone?
