I have been very lucky to secure an exclusive poetsquib interview with poet Willy Wordsdearth. Not only that, he has kindly agreed to let me reproduce here, in full, one of his most wellknown poems The Baker
The Baker
Behind the counter stands a man
A very jolly man
His face is round, his cheeks are red
He is the man who makes our bread
He has a twinkle in his eye
As if to say
Come and Buy

poetsquib: Willy, let me just say welcome to poetsquib.com and thank you so much for agreeing to be our showcase poet this week. How long have you been writing poetry?
willy wordsdearth: Ehmmmm about 2 weeks in total, well until we moved from poetry onto composition.
poetsquib: What books influenced your writing most, as a child?
willy wordsdearth: The Famous Five and the Beano
poetsquib: If you had to pick a favourite poem, what would it be?
willy wordsdearth:Favourite poem, tuff one that. I could say Unrequited (the epic) by the poetsquib, but I won’t. Being a romantic at heart I’d say The Owl and The Pussy Cat by Teddy Lear – a true classic.
poetsquib: Do you have any tips for aspiring poets out there who want to be like you?
willy wordsdearth: Just…..do it. That line would be good in a sports shoe advert don’t you think?
poetsquib: What do you think your chances are of getting the next Nobel Prize in Literature?
willy wordsdearth: There’s probably more chance of George Bush being insane. Pardon….?….what?….he is insane? Oh man…! Then I have every chance.
poetsquib: Thank you Will, inspiring as always. One last question, do you want cracked pepper with that?
willy wordsdearth: Don’t mind if I do, squib
